bad friends

I have been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years, we love each other, and plan to wed before the year's out.

But there is one HUGE problem we still have. I cannot stand his friends!!!

They are very immature and are constantly getting in trouble with the law. I was not raised to associate with such people nor do I have any desire to.

My boyfriend and I plan on moving out of state and building this wonderful family, but for some reason he can't seem to let go of these friends because "they've been friends for soooo long, and blah, blah, blah."

Is it wrong for me to want him to let these friends go or should I just get rid of my boyfriend and let him stay with his loser friends?

Yes, I love him, but I love myself and have to look out for my own furture as well, and these so-called friends do not have a positive future on their horizon.
