How Do I Get Over An Infatuation?

I have recently developed this infatuation with this guy at college, he's in the year above me and I only know him because we both are in the debating society.

Other than the occasional conversation we have no communication whatsoever. However i can't seem to stop thinking about him, he just seems so perfect.

He's tall, handsome and intelligent. i dream and fantasize about him in my spare time (in a non sexual way). But i don't think i'm in love and i don't think he shares the same feelings for me.

Additionally, i've heard from some other people that he already has a girlfriend.

Furthermore, i don't think my parents would really be in acceptance of him even if miraculousy we did form a relationship.

So i've come to the conclusion that I need to move on with my life and get over this infatuation but everytime i try and build up my resistance, it falls apart when i see him, i just melt and all those passionate feelings seem to come back.

So What do I do to get over him?

His very presence is a distraction and everytime he's even remotely near me i get flustered and self conscious.

I can't carry on like this! HELP!
