I Fell In Love With A Girl Who Has A Boyfriend

I am shy senior in high school and i met this girl in the beginning of the year(she is my friend's girlfriend).

We became really close friends and i would talk to her about anything and everything. Then i fell in love with her.

This made me feel like i was back-stabbing my friend so i tried to focus on other girls. But no one was like her and my love grew until i couldn't keep it in anymore and i told her.

She said that shes sorry. But i can't stop thinking of her and at times i feel like she likes me but at the same time that she loves her boyfriend.

She is the first girl that i liked this much, she is everything I'm looking for and then some.

I'm afraid of losing her friendship and/or making things more awkward between us. I really love her and her boyfriend is really rude to her and upsetting her a lot. I hate to see her like that.

What can i do?
