Is this a good way to start a relationship?

There's this girl who's class is right next to mine. And I know her only briefly, but I want to get to know her more.

After class I want to grab her hand and I'll just be like "Can I tell you something" and I'll pull her away from the crowd. And there I will say

"I've been meaning to tell you this for awhile, I just think you're very pretty, and I would like to get your number, for I can get to know you better" and if she gives me her number, I'll walk her to class with our arms locked. And I'll only talk to her about school (the class we used to have together, and the class she's going to now) to save some conversation for the phone.

And when I take her there, should I lean in for a kiss (one on the cheek or a closed kiss on the lips) or a hug? And how does this plan sound? Any thing you would add or change?

I asked this on another forum and some people told me to take that I think she's pretty out, but I got that feeling that I need to keep that in there.
