The truth of the matter is that humans of the male species are not worth all this effort and heartache. In addition, arranged marriages are a thing of the past. In order for you to move forwards with the rest of the world, it's important that you recognize the value of human choice and not being influenced by your backwards parents. Therefore, if you decide that this particular specimen of the male is worth all this extra effort, then you must go ahead and take the initiative to ignore your parents. On the other hand, if you decide to not marry, statistics show that women who do not wed live longer.

You asked "What should I do"? there is nothing that you can do... This is all in his hands not yours! He has to stand up to his family and make them understand that YOU are the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with. If he can't do that, than I'm sorry to say it's just not meant to be.
