My Boyfriend Says He Wants To Marry Me But Doesn't Want Me To Tell Everyone Yet

I am a college student and it my first college boyfriend and we have been together for 4 month now.

He was telling me that he wanted to marry me. After I told everybody about it he was a little worried and wasn't ready to tell people yet because he is afraid what people might do and how dangerous it is out there.

He just wants to protect the relationship.

My point is how can a guy say they love you and want to marry you and afraid to tell the whole world about your engagement?

If a man is ready to marry you and he has told you so and he loves you, then it follows that he will be proud about announcing your engagement.

But if he didn't mean it when he told you so or he's not sure yet or he told you so to keep you at his side, then he wouldn't want you to publicize it.

Whatever the reason for his action, be sure you're with the right guy who loves you and wants to spend the rest of his life with you.
