Online dating is big business. Men and women are pairing. New internet dating sites are springing up. Should you join the online dating train? Will you find true love in dating sites?

No doubt you have had time to ponder over these questions.

Whether you decide to sign up with an internet dating site is a personal decision. It's up to you to decide where you search for your ideal man . . . the man just right for you.

However, whether you will find true love in internet dating web sites is hard to say.

Most of the online dating services boast of having thousands of singles ready, even anxious, to start a love relationship.

On the surface, this means you have a wide population to select from. These sites show the pictures and statistics of these singles.

You are presented with everything from age, height, complexion, weight, shoe size, eye color, language, country of origin . . . and anything else the promoters consider necessary.

Mathematicians will tell you that the larger a population, the better the chances of getting the desired result in a selection process.

What that means is that online dating sites that boast of tens of thousands of members willing to start a love relationship presents a perfect place to search for your future partner . . . from the mathematical point of view.

So you could say the advantages of online dating includes . . .
Large sample size. Provides a wide variety of choices.
Ease of contact. Some sites even provide the phone numbers and addresses of members free.
Ease of sampling
Ease of breakup if you find a member unsuitable
No wonder internet dating has great appeal among youngsters!

But with the advantages of internet dating come the disadvantages. These disadvantages include . . .

Lack of commitment. Many youngsters and singles date for the fun of it.

Falsification. Many members make claims about themselves that are far from true.

Lack of complete information. The person you are dating online can be anything from a terrorist to a wife batterer, a rapist, a robber, a depressed disillusioned guy or just a normal person.

Unknown and unverifiable intentions. It's difficult to tell if the person you are dating online really loves you or not.

By far the biggest disadvantage of online dating is your inability, in most cases, to verify the information provided by your online mate. If you cannot verify his identity and the truthfulness of his claims, you cannot say for sure that he is the right man for you.
