Everyone seems to know . . . or think they know . . . what makes a relationship work. And they are ever too willing to provide you informal relationship counseling.

Relationship counseling experts provide relationship help and support at a price. Free for all counselors like your friends and neighbor provide help at no cost.

People naturally flow towards free things. Hence, there is a tendency to jettison paid relationship help for free relationship advice.

Here is some bad news.

Your friends and neighbors who come to help may actually have their own selfish reasons for popping up in your life ever so often. Since there is usually some form of ulterior motive behind their actions, the advice they give tend to satisfy their selfish yearnings.

Consider a real life example.

A woman told her friend during one of their loose conversations how much her husband gives her monthly for house expenses. Her friend said the amount was ridiculous. She said if she were in her shoes, she would make sure he gave much more like other men do.

The woman noted that her friend had a point. So, she confronted her husband and asked for more.

The husband said he couldn't give anything more. But the wife wouldn't take no for an anwser. She insisted the husband had to give more.

The argument went on day after day. Soon it degenerated into a squabble after repeated unrelenting demands by the wife.

Eventually the couple separated.

Much later the woman decided to make up with her husband.

Guess what?

Her friend had taken over her position as her husband's new wife.

This is not to say all your friends are after your man. But be careful who you go to for advice. Many of those acquaintances who provide free relationship help are actually after their own interests.

Relationship counseling experts are, however, different. They have a job to do and a reputation to protect. When they serve their customers well, those satisfied customers refer other clients.

Hence, relationship counseling experts seek to provide the best relationship help possible to clients.

Your situation may not require you to get professional relationship counseling. But if you do need to get professional help, don't hesitate to speak to an expert.

You need to settle down to married life with the man just right for you. Anything that can help make that happen is worth trying. Do not let consulting fees deter you.
